In this Spring, the UBC Faculty of Forestry offered eight free open-access instructor-led courses to 33 Chinese forestry universities for supporting their online learning during the beginning of the Covid-19 outbreak. With the support from the Asia-Pacific Network for Sustainable Forest Management (APFNet), this initiative attracted over 1,500 participants and received much praise and positive feedback.
As is known, we have been experiencing a difficult time. Many countries are still battling the COVID-19 pandemic. With the tremendous support from the Asia-Pacific Network for Sustainable Forest Management (APFNet), on behalf of the UBC Faculty of Forestry, we are pleased to announce that five more online courses will be offered in this coming fall, and be open to all students in the Asia Pacific region.
As of Monday, September 21, the following forestry courses could be chosen and the completion date of these courses is no later than December 11, 2020:
Course I: Geomatics in Forestry and Conservation (Dr. Nicholas Coops, UBC)
Course II: Urban Forestry in the Asia Pacific Region (Dr. Cecil Konijnendijk, UBC)
Course III: Sustainable Forest Management in the Changing World (Dr. John Innes, UBC)
Course IV: Forest Governance, Public Relations, and Community (Dr. Juan Pulhin, UPLB)
Course V: Development Forest Resource Management and Protection (Dr. Yong LIU, BFU)
