Innovative Sustainable Forest Management Education project won the 2016 CNIE-RCIE Award

The Canadian Network for Innovation in Education (CNIE) has awarded the Innovative Sustainable Forest Management Education project the winner of the CNIE-RCIE Award in the category of Excellence and Innovation in the Integration of Technology in Educational Practices/Collaboration for its work on the Sustainable Forest Management (SFM) online courses.

The CNIE-RCÍE Awards recognizes excellence in innovative educational practices in the use of technology to support and advance learning at regional, national, and international levels in a variety of settings. Innovative educational practice can be seen in distance, open distributed, blended, and traditional learning environments and these awards recognizes this diversity. This competition is adjudicated by a committee of professional peers from across Canada.

Supported by APFNet, the first phase of this project with a series of SFM online courses were developed jointly with five participated universities in the AP region. The award highlights the tremendous work and collaboration between APFNet, Beijing Forestry University, University of British Columbia, University of Melbourne, University of the Philippines Los Baños College and Putra University of Malaysia.
