Dr. Huaguo Huang
Professor, Doctoral Supervisor, Distinguished Professor with the Ministry of Education of China, Director of the Smart Forestry Research Division at the National Key Laboratory, and member of the China Committee of the International Society for Digital Earth. He serves as an editorial board member for “Journal of Remote Sensing,” “Forest Ecosystems,” “Journal of Beijing Forestry University,” and “Journal of Remote Sensing.” His main research focuses on quantitative remote sensing in forestry, where he has conducted systematic research on the theoretical framework construction, full-spectrum three-dimensional remote sensing mechanism models, and practical applications in forestry quantitative remote sensing. He has edited two books: “Modern Forestry Information Technology” and “Quantitative Remote Sensing in Forestry: Framework, Models, and Applications.” His research achievements have been recognized with several awards from NFGA, MoE of China. Besides, he independently developed the three-dimensional remote sensing mechanism model RAPID worldwide, which is the first unified mechanism model integrating optics, microwaves, LiDAR, and thermal infrared, and is available for free(www.3dforest.cn). He has published over 100 papers in top remote sensing and forestry journals, including 11 of them in “Remote Sensing of Environment.”
